At ReNue, we work hard at always improving our unique and free consultations, to increase your satisfaction with treatments. We have tried many terms to describe the need to keep the face from looking tired, saggy, sad or angry, but I think the most relevant term is “foundation.”
This is what I mean…. like houses, if the concrete foundation is strong it will last longer and support a bigger and better house. Some people are blessed with a good natural foundation like high cheek bones, a tight under eye, strong jaw line and chin. Others are not so fortunate and thus will age earlier. As we age, we all lose our foundation of bone mass, muscle, fat and thickness to the skin. It starts early but becomes more apparent in our 40’s. Illness, stress, weight loss and a whole myriad of environmental factors also play a role.
Everybody who is interested in looking less tired, saggy, sad or angry requires dermal filler, like Juvéderm, to help reduce those negative emotions that are on display in the face. For better or worse, we humans respond quickly to how we perceive people as a result of evolution and social safety (I have discussed this in previous blogs).
For those below 40, you might be starting to see small cracks in your foundation and need to protect your foundation and keep it maintained. This means smaller amounts of Juvéderm to keep your cheeks lifted, the area under your eyes looking young and your jaw line flawless. If you don’t have a great natural foundation, you may need more Juvéderm to do a bit more transformation rather than just maintenance.
For those over 40, like a house, your foundation might be starting to sag, crack and even fall apart. This is why you require more Juvéderm than someone younger. If you have kept up your foundation from a young age, then it is just ongoing maintenance. Unfortunately, this is rare. If you have never had Juvéderm before to correct your foundation, then we will need to put a plan together to rebuild and reinforce it.
Again, if you have never had Juvéderm before to rebuild your foundation and are over the age of 40, you will need significant amounts of filler. It is not that we want to sell you more, it is because it is needed to get a proper and valued result.
At ReNue, we set up a series of treatments sessions. An example would be:
- Session 1: Address the upper 1/3 of the face by lifting cheeks and filling temples
- Session 2: Address the lower 1/3 of the face by contouring the chin and jaw line and nasolabial folds
- Session 3: Refine the area under the eye, lips and marionette lines
This is not a recipe but just an example of one approach. All treatments are customized but there is a method to what we do. If you start with treating your lips or nasolabial folds, you will not be as happy with your treatment because the foundation needs to be addressed first. As with many things, you can’t put the cart before the horse.
It is nice to proceed as quickly as possible through the treatment sessions, but not everyone can afford to be treated in a short space of time. We tailor your sessions to match your budget and your anti-aging needs to help you look and feel your best.
Here is the point…. you can go as slowly as you need to make things work with your personal financial circumstances. This is why we favour Juvéderm Voluma, because it is the longest-lasting hyaluronic acid-based filler on the market. So, if it takes us some time to build your foundation, the filler won’t disappear before we get to the next stages.
Finally, this kind of foundation repair and continued maintenance takes years of experience. All of our staff and I understand and can deliver on the above concepts. Inexperienced injectors do not have the ability or comfort to take you through your Juvéderm journey. This is why ReNue is unique and our consultations are unique.
